It seems to me that many sites have recently showed a slight drop in Alexa rank lately. Facebook as mentioned in my last post has slowed down slightly and I have noticed this on many other big sites. Is Alexa tweaking the way it analyses statistics? I’m losing interest in Alexa rankings to be honest, but this is something I will keep an eye on.

Alexa has clearly changed its algorythms. Whether that is good or bad is yet to be seen. Just because a few sites lose rank doesn’t mean the changes aren’t for the better.

Yup definitely Alexa is tweaking their algorithym. I am very much dissapointed how they rank sites and I am losing my trust on their service
I have this site site gameuber.com a month ago my site sits on 521,450 in rank after a couple of weeks it began to decrease(increase to million spot), when it reached 600,000 in that margin I realize that something was not right as I have been receiving a good amount of traffic I even have an article on that day that hits 2,500 + visitors so I was so happy that it will move its rank but to my surprise it went up to 650,000 in that margin. I was clueless, what the heck happened?
So I made some further investigation because my site sits now on 698,088 (while posting this comment) and I am very much worried because I checked the next month’s preview it will hit 1,028,697 in ranking so I downloaded the Alexa’s Top 1,000,000 Sites in CSV format (they say Updated Daily you can download the list in their site and check what rank your site sits) and I can’t believe it my site is nowhere to be found in the freaking list. Man this is a downfall if you have business they can take it away instantly.
